Privacy policy
Short version: we store as little as possible, sell none of it, and measure visits without cookies or cross-site tracking.
Who is responsible
Kamil B. Demirci, reachable at hello@cssduel.com. Full details in the imprint.
What we store
Player identity
The first time you save a solution we set a cd_player cookie holding a random value. Your display name and your runs hang off it. We ask for no password, and unless you sign in we do not know who you are. The cookie is technically necessary for leaderboards and expires after two years.
Account
If you sign in, we store your email address so your progress survives a browser change. Sign-in codes are stored hashed and deleted once used or expired. You can ask us to delete the account at any time.
Runs
For every submission we store the submitted code, the character count, the match value, the score and the time. That is the basis of the leaderboards.
Local to your browser
Your current editor draft lives in your browser's localStorage. That data never reaches our server and you can clear it from your browser settings at any time.
Server logs
The web server necessarily logs IP address, time and requested path. These logs serve operations and abuse defense and are deleted after a short period.
Reach measurement
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages get visited. It sets no cookie, writes nothing to your browser and builds no profile — a visit is counted, then aggregated. It cannot recognise you on another site or on your next visit. Details at Vercel's analytics privacy notice.
No sharing
We do not sell data and do not pass it to third parties unless legally required. Service providers needed to run the site (hosting, database) process data only on our instructions.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict processing of your data, as well as data portability, and you may complain to a supervisory authority. If you play without an account we can only identify you by your cookie, so please include your display name — then we delete the player and all their runs. Requests to hello@cssduel.com.
Changes
We update this policy when the site changes. The current version is always the one on this page.
